With the elections coming near..so many discussions are dedicated to it...be it any strata of the society one may belong to. Everybody has an opinion & they want to define it.
More often, I've heard people negate the whole thing altogether & are still undecided whether to vote!! :O [Yes, even after such strategic campaigning by parties as well as campaigns to exercise the vote!]
Main reason being, its not going to help...how much will 1 vote count...all are corrupt there....India will remain the same... n there's no hope n more Blah!!But Hey, If I don't want my country to remain the same & have politicians who treat India as their backyard & dump whatever they want..whose fault is it? Ever wondered why the politicians think they can get away with all this? Haven't we been instrumental in letting them remain in power & get away with anything & everything for this long?
I have only one answer, if our pre independence Indians had also thought the same, India would still not be an independent country. Or for that matter any progress/breakthrough/invention that we've enjoyed throughout the ages, would it have been possible without someone trying & some others trusting?
Sure, India has her flaws & 60+ years are too much time to still remain flawed.
But that's the way it is. So better accept it & stop looking at the immediate history. History that was pre 1947 is more inspiring, isin't it? Surely getting Independence was a tougher task then, than improving state of the country today.
Isin't it better to do something rather let it remain the same? & its not a one time affair to do, its not only about voting...if we are constantly even just aware of our surroundings...that too surely be a huge impact.
To improve our country is in our hands & one doesn't need to join politics for it, if its not your cup of tea. Sure its not easy...nor can it be captured in a so-n-so timeframe. So what? Atleast there'll be a begining...& a lot many definite beginnings is what we need. We would'nt want to pass the same lines to be repeated about our country to the next generation!
Thankfully there are some wonderful people out there who believe in this & do contribute well by just being Aware...people who have always been doing things to improve their immediate surroundings, making changes even in a little way...big or small notwithstanding. But if there are more than just a handful..would'nt that be great? This needs a mass movement too..like elections or IPL for the matter.
So next time someone tells u Maybe.... ; be it about voting or about keeping your neighbourhood clean or anything good; make sure u convince them enough to - Definitely!!
It'll be worth it...
Do u think I succeeded?
Maybe...... nah... Definitely!!! :)
