Intentional Actions

Our intentions may be genuine gold. But if we want people to believe them , we have to back them up by actions.
Intentions without actions doesn't justify the claim. Doesn't measure up to much.

"Its only Words....

...& words are all I have to take your heart away. "

What a lovely song this is.

Blessed are the people who can just as easily bring out the verbal verbose they feel within their hearts & empty the heart...but its equally unblessing/terrible for people who are eloquent, but get tongue tied or who actually cannot well put across what they feel at the times when its most needed. It's too constraining.

Then those words go down in the head, where nobody's listening..or it goes down in a diary albeit... paper or blog one.

Many a times when I've thought of it, the first impression is that, it is usually the problem of a person who is very unsure. But my psychological mind (:P) has probed the subject deeper & has learnt that, that is not the only reason. Apart from an inherent reservedness some people have, there can be various reasons for people to hold back on their words. Most of the common reasons are:
  • When there is fear of rejection
  • When there is uncertainty of the feeling of the thought wanting to be expressed
  • When there is an ego at a definite unhealthy high place to go and approach someone
  • When one really feels that what s/he may speak will anyways not make a difference
  • When one has lost hopes/faith on the bearer of the subject
  • When you are so hurt that words don't form proper fragments in the mind to come out
  • When you don't want to make yourself vulnerable to open bruises
  • When you don't want to break someone's heart as well as you can't lie either
  • When you fear losing........this can be anything, fear of losing loved one, relation, hope, ...job. Anything
  • When one thinks that his/her knowledge is too deep for the recipient to understand
  • & most importantly, when you don't trust yourself anymore. I assume this to be the most painful of all the reasons
I'm sure you must be wondering, that all these points are only related to sadness/negativity etc. There's good reason. I do very much believe when one is happy & even if a word is not uttered, the happiness reflects itself on the face. It Sure does.
Factually, we humans live the fact of, "Laugh & the world laughs with you, Cry & you cry alone", We are forever protecting the other side, the emotionally scarred side, going on about with a made up face hoping that what you feel will somehow reach the other person.

It Doesn't.

Let me finish off by quoting an amazing quote here:
"Whenever you expect someone to understand what you feel, always remember that how can the person know what you were never able to express?
-Things left unsaid often remain unheard."

So, Go express! It may not be the safest way...but again, there is no other way.
Is there?

Short Story

Imagine you were in class X and one day in school, between a class, you get called to the principal. You go the Principal's office and the principal tells you - straight faced - that you cannot get a hall-ticket for the board exams.
What would be your feeling? You'd start crying...your knees would probably buckle..and you'd start thinking of all the things you did this year which probably you shouldn't have done.

When you can't think of any and you plead with the principal to let you know the reason for this extreme decision, the Principal says, "Because you tore your classmate's hall ticket in a brawl in the board exams of class VII and he missed an exam."

What goes in your mind at that moment?

'Has the Principal lost it'?
'This is sheer nonsensical'
This is sinister'

...and some more similar thoughts maybe.
You'd question the principal why you have to suffer for something after such a long time and why weren't you reprimanded then.

You get a reply, 'So that you know what it's like to suffer the same way' OR something like 'Coz that was not the right time'. This reply coming from the principal ..not some high school senior or some arrogant teacher.

What would go on in your mind then?
That you are unfairly treated. That this is a sick way of teaching kids to behave. That this is deceptive way to treat a child.
What do you do? Cry, plead, beg. Call your parents. They try all tricks. Still no avail. It's the Principal's call after all. You lose a year.

Sure what goes around, comes back. But this way? They should have questioned you then! Not now, when you grew out of that phase & are on the brink of dreaming about living the future you have laid out in your eyes already! & that was a brawl!! Even your own hall ticket could have been torn, or worse still, you may have gotten injured too! Maybe you are said that that kid was punished too & his punishment was that he missed his exam. Why would you care what thing he was punished for? & if you were a mediator for him to get his punishment, how is it your fault??

Does this story make sense? Maybe. Maybe not.
This in a most simplified way is a small part and the story of what Karma is and how it works.
I'm not going to give my personal opinion on do I think it if it's right or not. I think my thoughts are clear enough for who can read it. As for you, it's for you to think and judge for yourself.

Destiny Tales!

I may not know a lot about love and lovey-dovey relations first hand.
But I do know first hand that relations - any kinds- are bound by destinies and not by emotional or practical decisions.

Thoughts while Driving

When you know where your destination is, its easy to navigate & change lanes accordingly.

When you don't know where your destination is, its always chaotic not only for you... but the others driving around you as well.

A Virtue?

Being honest doesn't seem like a great virtue to have; when someone else does not understand it & you end up paying the price of being truthful.

One Day.

"You know, I'll surely get that One day..."

"One day I'm going to visit & surprise them... "

"I'm surely building my own home One day..."

"I'm going to own that car One day.."

"I see myself in that place One day..."

"This is something I wish to achieve One day...."

"I'm going on that Trip One day..."

" I'll make time for running that marathon One day.."

"I'll tell him....One day."

Sounds familiar? This 'One day' is such an intrinsic part of our lives.

It proves the fact that life is about dreams, dreams & more dreams. They never end. Its like the glue which keeps the soul stuck to this material world. Otherwise we'd attain renunciation. :D

Since the time we start realising our passions & our choices for the life we'd love to live, we always dream of getting on the road we would like to live on...(but which seems not possible at the moment) to the mystifying, "ONE DAY."

Though some dreams are achievable, we push them them ahead due to procrastination. & for the others,

We do not know where to place THAT ONE DAY in the plan of our life.

How often do we actually reach that "One day" is something we lose sight of more often than not.
Also, too often, time passes away & the season to pursue that 'One day' becomes a lost dream.. like a piece of wrinkled paper carried in our wallets for too long.

Then either the way is past long gone to pursue them or the zeal within us has dimmed. [Oh, don't tell me that anything can be started anytime; I won't be dreaming to run a marathon at the age of 60. Not because maybe I can't..but its stupid to risk it when I could have planned better.]

Life is so full of immediate things that we forever keep pushing away our desires on distant hopes..telling ourselves, let these immediate few things get attended to in our life, then we'll plan for that big dream we are seeing.

These 'few things' happening in our lives will never end & thus taking us far way from the mirage called 'One day.'

Until we don't realise that; that it is not a mirage, we will end up with a wishlist of unfulfilled dreams & desires..many of which could have been attained.

"Life is waiting", is a lovely line from the movie- 'The Terminal.' I'd like to add to this lovely line:

Life is waiting...'Why am I?'

Maybe this check up is just what the doctor ordered right now. I'm on my way to following it. Are you starting too?

IE

Nah...I'm not starting off about the Internet Explorer & the difference it has made in the modern world & our lives.

I'm referring to the Intellect vs Emotion battle that consists of the human make up. Every person is generally inclined more towards one of these. That's how we are categorized in the Practical /Heartful people.

When I think about it, I'm generally stuck at this point,
In the matters of the mind over heart, what should one go for?

I'm a regular at this dilemma. :O There are times when I know something is correct in the mind, yet somehow heart does not agree for it... & if my heart says so, I trust it to be right!!
...Maybe becoz it may be Correct for me, but wrong in general...
..& then there are times when the heart just pushes you to do something, though the mind has other opinions.

What does one do then? What is the correct way to go? Many would answer that it is always good & correct to listen to the mind, as it can give reasons for anything. But, what about the heart? Just because it doesn't give reasons..except feelings...should it be ignored?

Heart does give false alarms too...for which we face the repercussions later..but that's another story.

Ideally it would be best if we attain a balance. Sure its not an impossible task to find it, But its not an overnight job... & overnight replies to such questions would be so good!!
Here too, notice how the heart and mind differ on coming to a common agreement? Mind knows its not possible to find overnight replies..& the heart wants just that!

Ah...! but when were questions & answers about life that easy...?
